How do I add a round?

A round belongs to a track, so add a track first.

1. Open Rounds.
2. Press Add a round under the track.
3. Give it a Round name, say how it is Held, set From and To, and choose what it is Scored on.
4. Press Add round.

What is the difference between a round and a milestone?

A round is scored by judges and counts towards results. A milestone is a check-in on how each team is getting on, with no score.

Set them up on Rounds under Milestones with Set up milestones. A hackathon can run on milestones alone.

How do I invite a judge?

1. Open Judging.
2. Under Invite a judge, type Their email address.
3. Press Send invite.

You can also invite from a round itself: open it on Rounds and use Invite a judge by email. That puts them straight on the round.

How do I put a judge on a round?

1. Open Judging.
2. On the round’s card, choose the judge under Assign a judge.

To split entries between judges, open the round on Rounds, set Judges per entry, and press Deal entries out at random. Or choose Everyone sees everything.

Can judges score without seeing names?

Yes. Open the round and press Hide names from judges. Entries show as "Anonymised". Hand-ins still show.

A judge marked on paper. How do I enter it?

Press Paper sheet on the round’s card and type in their marks.

A judge submitted by mistake. Can they change a mark?

1. Open the round on Rounds.
2. Press Reopen sheet on the judge’s row.
3. Say why, then press Reopen [name]’s sheet.

How do I publish the results?

1. Open Results.
2. Press Work out the results for the track.
3. Check the placings. Add any Special awards now.
4. Press Publish these placings.

Publishing locks scoring and lets you issue placing certificates.

How do I correct published results?

1. Press Take these down and give a reason.
2. Fix the scores.
3. Press Work them out again, then publish.

The board then says the results were revised and how many placings changed. Certificates already issued stay valid.

What is the Championship page?

With Schools and Results on, it totals points by school from published placings. Set What a place is worth, and fix anything under Corrections.
